Same-day delivery triples in past year

STORES – New research from Boston Retail Partners shows that 51 percent of retailers now offer some form of same-day delivery, up from 16 percent the previous year. Within two years, the survey says, 65 percent will offer it.

Many retailers are using a third-party delivery service such as Uber or Lyft to compete. Of course, Amazon got this whole thing kicked off and retailers are finding they must be able to meet consumers’ increasing demands for instant gratification.
